Canberra United will look to bounce back from their heavy loss to Sydney FC when they take on Adelaide United at McKellar Park this weekend.

Canberra United will be aiming to make amends for Tuesday’s heavy defeat at the hands of Sydney FC when they welcome Adelaide United to McKellar Park this weekend.

The team in green suffered a shock 6-1 defeat at the hands of the clear ladder-leaders during the week, and will need to bounce back immediately to continue a pursuit of top spot and a home final.

New signing Kahlia Hogg has been included in the preliminary matchday squad and as she comes off five years in the United States, will be more than ready to make an impact if she is called upon by head coach Rae Dower.

The home side will again be without injured senior duo Ellie Brush and Michelle Heyman as they continue to be sidelined, but Ashleigh Sykes will weild the Captain’s armband once more and look to spur the team on.

Adelaide will prove a stern test, as they did at home when the side’s drew 2-2 in the reverse of this fixture, and held reigning champions Melbourne City to a 1-1 draw last weekend, something that is no mean feat in Melbourne.

Racheal Quigley scored United’s goal in that game last week and also scored in the 2-2, proving a threat to be reckoned with and causing countless problems for the Canberra defence on that occasion.

She will be someone to look out for again this weekend and could change the game if she can impose herself early.
