Canberra United and Australia star Ellyse Perry will be the new face and host of Football NSW-s award winning program Football Stars of Tomorrow when it premieres on ONE HD on Wednesday June 23 at 6.30pm AEST.

Perry, who recently won the ICC Twenty20 cricket tournament with Australia, is a talented dual international who signed for Canberra United at the beginning of Season 2 of the Westfield W-League and went on to scoop a hatful of awards, both club and national, at the conclusion of her debut season in green.

Football Stars of Tomorrow has developed into a unique showcase for grassroots football across Australia and includes a number of popular segments including Celebrity Shoot Out, One to Watch and My Club. The show has a real focus on the grassroots of football and has attracted a loyal following over the years.

Perry was approached by the show-s producers and invited to audition for the presenter-s role before successfully coming out of the audition process as first choice.

“It-s definitely a challenge,” Perry said. “It-s the first time I have stood on the other side of the camera and asked the questions!”

Filming on the shows takes place over a series of weeks with Perry on hand to do her part.

“I-ve been working on it for about a month and have really enjoyed it. It-s a fantastic opportunity and a great honour to be selected to present the show.”
