Canberra United can today confirm that defender Natasha Prior will miss the rest of the Westfield W-League season due to a severe concussion.

Prior was stretchered from the field after a nasty clash with an opponent during United’s round five win over Sydney FC at McKellar Park, and was diagnosed with a severe concussion but no further damage following scans.

Further assessments though have confirmed that Prior will miss the remainder of the season as she makes a full recovery.

Head Coach Heather Garriock wished Prior the best of luck in her recovery and said she looks forward to seeing her back on the pitch.

“It is always a shame to lose a talented player to injury,” she said.

“But it is important that Tash takes the time out to make a full recovery and comes back to the pitch even stronger.”

“The club will support Tash through this time, she is still a part of the training environment with us, and we all can’t wait to see her back playing Football.”

Further squad news will be announced prior to Thursday night’s fixture with Brisbane Roar at McKellar Park.
