Canberra United will face international opponents for the first time in its history when Korea Republic ‘B’ provides the opposition for a midweek friendly match on Tuesday 14th December at 5.30pm at Deakin Stadium.

The Korean team are in Australia for a ten-day international training camp at Sydney-s Valentine Park and will take the opportunity to travel to Canberra to face Ray Junna-s team.

With a large Korean ex-pat population based in Canberra the club is hopeful of attracting a good crowd for this unique fixture.

“We are delighted to welcome Korea Republic ‘B- to Canberra to face our Westfield W-league team,” Canberra United CEO Heather Reid commented.

“We have excellent links with South Korea and recently sponsored former national Women-s Coach Mr. James An to become an Australian resident. Mr. An has brought his wealth of experience to the Capital in helping coach our High Performance Program squads and we expect he will contribute a great deal to football in the national capital. We anticipate a super football match on Tuesday evening and encourage spectators to attend.”

Admission to the match will be free of charge and gates will open at 5.00pm.
