Canberra United players Caitlin Munoz, Tseng Shu-O, Grace Gill and Sally Shipard helped to launch the 2010 Women-s Summer of Sport at the Canberra Girls Grammar School on Wednesday 13th October.

The United players joined ACT Meteors Cricket fast bowler Charlotte Anneveld and one of the Canberra Capitals star players, Marianna Tolo to run a class of Canberra Girl-s Grammar School students through their paces in a series of small sided games featuring the best the three sports have to offer.

Tseng and Shipard took part in some ‘keep-ball- exercises, a few fun ‘knock-out- drills and ended with a five-a-side match against the eager students.

Munoz meanwhile showed her skills alongside Anneveld and Tolo in a basketball game with the schoolgirls that the Matilda-s star admitted was much tougher than it looked from the sideline! Needless to say Tolo-s height and ability was a major advantage for the Capital-s player!

Perhaps the highlight of the session was seeing Chinese Taipei international Tseng Shu-O trying her hand at cricket with the amiable striker proving a decent knock with the bat before being dismissed, caught Anneveld, off the bowling of Munoz.

However, Canberra United-s dual cricket and football international Ellyse Perry need not worry unduly just yet!
